The Process - Coated Paper Board

We at KTPL are using various steps of converting Raw Material into a Finished Products in our mills. The various steps of the processing are briefly described are as follows:-

RAW MATERIAL & PULP MAKING

100% recycled paper is used in manufacturing paper board in our plant. We have two main pulp preparation systems as only white & grey pulp is used to manufacture paperboard. The white pulp is made from good quality of imported & indigenous unprinted or light printed white waste paper. Pulp making comprises of pulpers, cleaners & screens. The grey pulp is made from superior quality OLD NEWSPAPERS (ONP) & Mix Waste paper collected from different international & local suppliers. The processing of these materials is carried out in a separate way which comprises world class equipments being operated with latest technology. We have adopted latest state of art modern technology, thus we are able to get better quality high strength grey pulp free from impurities like sand, pins, chips & waxes etc.

SHEET FORMING

To give better quality to customers, the product range of KTPL is manufactured on imported seven cylinder formers. The grey & white pulp produced from different processes is treated in four ways to make it suitable for the next processing. Chemicals & additives are added as per different quality requirements & Stock is pushed to different formers to make board sheet called ‘Web’. The web formed at different formers is embedded and hold on together to form the board sheet completely.

PRESSING & DRYING

Board web formed at forming section is carried by felt to the press part. We are using double felt & suction press to remove the water from the web. After squeezing maximum water of sheet from press part, the sheet is put into the dryer section; the water from sheet is being evaporated using steam heated drying cylinders. We are using big drying cylinder called M.G. which increases the glaze to the top of the board & it is main requisite of the board.

COATING & FINISHING

The surface sizing is done on both sides of the board at size press with special quality imported & indigenous starch. We have different stages of coating section which is used depending upon the application & requirement of the grade. The main purpose of pigment coating is to give a better look & other printing properties on top surface of the board. We are using the world class binder, pigments & other additives for formulation of coating which is very much necessary to reach the required standard. We are using gloss calendar to enhance the gloss & smoothness of the paper board with minimum reduction in bulk.

CONVERTING & PACKAGING

We are using winder & cutter to meet the size as required by consumer. The sheet ream are packed with High B.F kraft and bundled in HDPE. We are maintaining high standard of packaging as reels packing is in kraft along with edge protector and HDPE.

To achieve this monitoring is done starting with Raw Material to the final product and all intermediate processes. To facilitate this, KTPL maintains a well equipped laboratory. We are already working on ISO norms & other internationally accredited Quality management certifications.

Environmental protection & waste minimization is the responsibility of every employee & person working for and on behalf of the company. It is their duty towards to keep the environment Clean & Green. We are adopting appropriate operational practices and suitable technologies to monitor, improve and minimize the impact of process activities on environment. We are fully complied with relevant statutory & regulatory requirement. The raw material for our products is fully recycled, and we operate a state-of-the-art Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) at our factory site.
